COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated issues that were already present for healthcare providers leading to increased rates of burnout. Lifestyle medicine and positive psychology interventions can serve as an antidote to burnout and promote the well-being of healthcare providers. With the rising rates of mental health concerns due to the pandemic, counselors will be continuing to serve on the front lines. We need proper resources to protect our own well-being so we can continue to provide quality services to our clients.

Learning Objectives

  1. Participants will be able to explain the 6 pillars of lifestyle medicine to promote well-being.

  2. Participants will identify how lifestyle medicine and positive psychology can act as protective factors to burnout.

  3. Participants will conduct a personal well-being inventory and reflect on integrating lifestyle medicine to your well-being plan.
