Bio
Anne is a licensed attorney, post-graduate registered mental health counselor intern, and advocate. She has been working as an attorney for 23 years with a background in criminal, delinquency, and dependency law. ln clinical mental health counseling, Anne found the calling of her heart: To empower clients to discover their strengths and forgive their regrets in order to live a whole and meaningful life.

Anne is an integrative counselor drawing primarily from mindfulness, emotion-focused, neurobiological, and attachment theories to heal the physical and psychological wounds of trauma through person-centered and moderately directive interventions. She is passionate too, about justice system reform and the creation of trauma-informed court systems. Anne provides legal mental health and mitigation consultation services through her corporation McMillen Counseling & Consulting Inc. She is a member in good standing of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Criminal Justice sections of the Florida and American Bar Associations, the Orange County Bar Association, and a pro bono Guardian Ad Litem with the Orange County Legal Aid Society. Anne is the Legislative Chair of the Mental Health Counselors of Central Florida, the co-chair of the criminal justice sector of the Valencia College Peace and Justice Institute Creating a Resilient Community initiative, and a member of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, and the American Counseling Association.
