This presentation helps participants not only gain knowledge about the incredible importance of the right-orbital prefrontal cortex—aka “Joy Bucket”—but provides fun activities for growing this part of the brain that is the seat of personality and emotional regulation.

Objectives:

Participants will:

1. Learn the basic hierarchy of the brain, from posterior to anterior and right to left, and why that’s important to know as a counselor.

2. Learn how and why joy helps the brain function better and improves behavior.

3. Learn and practice three fun, simple activities to help clients utilize joy to improve brain function and behavior.

4. Provide resources for learning more about the 19 Relational Brain Skills.
