SPEAKER: Susan Truett
Susan Truett is in private practice Lakeland, working with couples, families and individuals on the challenges life offers. She is one of the very happily married, to another therapist Andy Quinn. She has a sweet and fiery teenage daughter, a goofy bull terrier, and a 1927 bungalow. She also has hundreds of hours as a mental health consumer; thousands of hours as a seeker after growth; uncountable hours as a lifelong learner. She is from a long line of depressed Welsh people, has had some terrible things happen to her, and has climbed her way to happiness one deliberate step at a time. She believes it is walking this path towards awareness, healing and happiness that informs her work as a counselor far more than degrees, licenses and training. She invites you to consider taking the next step on your own journey to happiness.
TOPIC: Dig a little deeper: Discovering ourselves as guides
You spend all this time helping others to grow. Where are You in your journey toward health and happiness? Take a private, guided exploration of your own life. Become aware of what is hurting or uncomfortable, or beckoning and tantalizing. Dare to acknowledge to yourself where you wish to heal or grow. Brainstorm who you want as your own partners and guides, and what path you’d like to take.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Participants will:
● Survey their own progress on the journey towards happiness
● Declare privately a desired next destination/goal
● Choose specific partners, guides, modalities and timeframes for their personal work
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
MHCCF meets on the third Friday of every month, except for July and December. Unless otherwise specified, our meetings are held at All Saints Church, 338 E Lyman Ave, Winter Park, Fla., with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. and the program from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
It is free to attend MHCCF’s monthly meetings; however you must be a paid, professional member of MHCCF to qualify for 1 CEU. Active professional members of MHCCF are required to sign in and sign out at each meeting to receive a CEU. Please have your license number available upon check-in.
