SPEAKER: Cheryl Cyr
Cheryl Cyr is an enthusiastic entrepreneur, who enjoys helping other people achieve more. She is the owner of several businesses in Florida, as well as an independent consultant who specializes in growing businesses. Cheryl is a speaker, author and licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. She is the owner of Fearaholic, and Power Within Counseling, where she enjoys helping people move past blocks associated with words. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University, a Masters in Metaphysical Science from the University of Sedona, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Central Florida.
TOPIC: Safety And Success In Private Practice
This presentation will cover some of the dangers and statistics that surround harm in Private Practice, and generally speaking in the helping profession. Most companies use, or have a safety plan in place, however, when a person goes into Private Practice this is often the last thing they consider. After working with and interviewing many psychotherapist, psychologist, and visiting many different types of practices, most are missing some basic safety elements. Safety, has a direct impact on our ability to be Successful.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. How to screen callers and ask specific intake questions
2. Evaluate surroundings, and make changes to work space
3. Identify potential harmful objects that clients can have access to
4. How to advertise your practice, using safe methods
5. Learn how and why the check in process can work, and when it won’t.

*The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival will begin at the same time as this meeting, and the All Saints church will have parking attendants that day. Please let the parking attendants know you are there for a meeting, and you will not be charged for parking.
MHCCF meets on the third Friday of every month, except for July and December. Unless otherwise specified, our meetings are held at All Saints Church, 338 E Lyman Ave, Winter Park, Fla., with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. and the program from 9 to 10:30 a.m.
It is free to attend MHCCF’s monthly meetings; however you must be a paid, professional member of MHCCF to qualify for 1 CEU. Active professional members of MHCCF are required to sign in and sign out at each meeting to receive a CEU. Please have your license number available upon check-in.
