SPEAKER: Josh Magro

Josh Magro is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Program Director for Personal Power & Prosperity, and an international workshop presenter. Josh has worked in the personal growth field for over 10 years and currently has a practice with the Center for the Healing Arts in Winter Park, FL. Josh holds a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Rollins College. He is trained in Imago Relationship Therapy, Neurotherapy and clinical hypnosis. Josh's concentrated specialties include Neurofeedback (also known as brain mapping), Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Parts Therapy, Couples Therapy, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma/PTSD, and Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACoA).


TOPIC: Neurofeedback and Neuro-Informed Therapy

 Neurofeedback is a therapeutic modality that promotes change at the cellular level of the brain and empowers clients to use their mind as a tool for healing. A growing number of health care providers have made neurotherapy their primary treatment modality whereas others have made it a part of a larger clinical practice. Neurotherapy is being used to treat symptoms related to depression, anxiety, PTSD, addictions, attention deficit disorder (ADHD), learning disorders, OCD, traumatic brain injury, and unresolved emotional issues. 


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Learn the definition, principles, concepts and rationale for Neurotherapy/Neurofeedback 

Provide an overview of neurofeedback’s core concepts, methods and equipment. 

Understand the electrical activity of the brain 

Provide a brief overview of brain anatomy 

Provide a balanced view on the benefits & challenges of Neurotherapy as a treatment modality. 


IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

MHCCF meets on the third Friday of every month, except for July and December. Unless otherwise specified, our meetings are held at All Saints Church, 338 E Lyman Ave, Winter Park, Fla., with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. and the program from 9 to 10:30 a.m.


It is free to attend MHCCF’s monthly meetings; however you must be a paid, professional member of MHCCF to qualify for 1 CEU. Active professional members of MHCCF are required to sign in and sign out at each meeting to receive a CEU. Please have your license number available upon check-in.


To become a member of MHCCF, please visit our website at mhccf.com and select the “Join Us” tab, or, sign up during networking & registration (8:30-9 am) at our monthly meeting. MHCCF accepts credit card or check payments at the door. We do not accept cash payments.
