Janie Lacy, LMHC, NCC, CSAT, Psy. D Candidate is an accomplished and well-recognized psychotherapist with over 12 years of experience who owns Life Counseling Solutions in Maitland. Florida. She has appeared as a psychological expert on hundreds of local and national radio and television shows discussing topics on relationship trauma, sex & love addiction, and anger management. Ms. Lacy knows how to energize a room and is a highly sought-after event host and a popular professional speaker on toxic love relationships, how to make relationships work, and taming the monster within. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, philanthropy, and reading in her spare time
This workshop will address the painful and addictive love process that negatively impacts not only the love addict but also the individuals with whom they are in relationship. Topics include what happens in the brain that makes it hard to break the cycle, highlights of cultural factors and attachment patterns (attachment theory – John Bowlby) that lead to craving the perfect partner who will bring endless happiness and how to break the cycle.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 1. Attendees should be able to describe the unhealthy addictive cycle in a couple. 2. Attendees should be able to understand the roots/origins of love addiction. 3. Attendees will be able to explain what asserting healthy boundaries for more equal relationships looks like in practical and everyday ways.

Unless otherwise specified, our meetings are held at All Saints Church, 338 E Lyman Ave, Winter Park, FL., with registration starting at 8:30 a.m. and the program from 9 to 10:30 a.m. It is free to attend MHCCF’s monthly meetings; however you must be a paid, professional member of MHCCF to qualify for 1 CEU. Active professional members of MHCCF are required to sign in and sign out at each meeting to receive a CEU. Please have your license number available upon check-in. MHCCF accepts credit card or check payments at the door. We do not accept cash payments.
