This training will highlight the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on mental illness and direct links to functional ability as an adult. Research studies will be reviewed to highlight the significance of the ACEs score and statistical outcomes. Treatment implications, such as trauma informed care and empowerment-oriented approaches will be introduced.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Participant will be able to define “ACEs.”

  2. Participant will be able assess for ACEs in clients.

  3. Participant will be able to identify clinical implications of ACEs scores in clients.

  4. Participant will be able to identify specific trauma-informed practices to treat ACEs in clients.

    MEET OUR SPEAKER

    Lisa Minter is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She has worked with individuals and families in both private practice and inpatient settings for over 10 years. She is trained in EMDR which is a trauma resolution therapy. She is active in the Greater Orlando EMDRIA study group. She is experienced in working with individuals and families affected by ACEs as well as adult trauma. She graduated from Rollins College in 2006 with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and a Certificate in Marriage and Family Counseling.

    HOW IT WORKS

    • On the day of the event, we will send you a link with the video for you to watch your on-demand webinar video - ENJOY!

    • Those who registered as Non-Member (CEU) and Members will receive a second email with the link for the CEU survey. 

    • You will have until the end of the month to watch the video and complete the CEU survey for total of 1 CEU credit with the links that were sent via the previously mentioned emails (video and survey).
