TRE (Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises) is a set of 7 simple exercises that activate the body's natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating.  The 'tremor mechanism" releases muscular tensions and calms down the nervous system.  Developed by Dr. David Berceli, TRE is  a self-help tool for people to access their body's own natural healing mechanism.  TRE® is being taught in 65 countries and practiced globally with millions of people.  This is an excellent adjunct to therapy as it empowers clients to actively participate in their recovery process.  For individuals who have an overcharged nervous system, TRE can help "down regulate" them from sympathetic to parasympathetic function.  For individuals who struggle with feeling disconnected, dissociated, or numb, or who vacillate between numb and intense emotional reactions, TRE can help bring about better self regulation.
