Presentation Summary:

Mindfulness is a necessary practice in today’s fast paced world and although it may appear to be a fad or a trend, it is something we all need to help reduce stress and anxiety in our lives. Although there is some overlap between mindfulness and meditation, mindfulness may be appealing to those of us who feel we cannot fit one more thing into our day. It is not a magic trick, and neither does it resolve all stress in our lives.  However, even with a few minutes a day of mindfulness practice, you may notice an increased ability to deal with external stressors and find a deeper sense of inner calm and balance.  Both of which can truly transform how we experience our day to day lives.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will learn about research outlining the benefits of mindfulness practice.

  2. Participants will gain practical skills to use personally to help manage stress each day.

  3. Participants will gain practical skills to help empower clients to help themselves.
