Presentation Summary:

This workshop will address the environment that we grew up in and how it might have harmed us, not through abuse, but through key elements that were lacking in our childhood. There are numerous peer-reviewed research that demonstrate that parenting styles greatly influence adult behavior later in life.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discover the ways that emotional neglect happens in our childhood.

  2. Identify symptoms of emotional neglect and their impact on health, work, and relationships.

  3. Learn how to repair the damage of emotional neglect and learn life-changing self-care behaviors.

  4. Gain strategies for helping a patient or loved one overcome emotional neglect.
