Panelists Bios:
Dr. Stacey Coffman-Rosen (she/they) is a specialist in adult identity development. She holds a PhD and MA in Human Development from Fielding Graduate University, a Master of Liberal Studies from Rollins College, and a BA with Honors in the Major from Rollins College. A re-occurring adjunct for the Critical Media and Cultural Studies department at Rollins College since 2014, Dr. Coffman designed and taught seven new courses including Critical Disability Studies and Disability, Body, and Identity. Dr. Coffman premiered Critical Disability Studies at Rollins and was also the first visibly disabled professor to teach it. Additional course highlights include Resisting Normalcy, Liberation Theory and Practice, and Social Change/Community Organizing. During her tenure at Rollins, Dr. Coffman co-taught courses, supervised independent studies, and served on undergraduate and graduate theses committees. Dr. Coffman also taught Self and Society and Sociology of Emotions in Fall 2020 for the Sociology department. Dr. Coffman is teaching Disability, Body, and Identity for the Rollins Foundations in Liberal Arts general education curriculum in the College of Liberal Arts during the Fall 2024 term.
Jana Helms, M.L.S, M.A. is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and Registered Marriage and Family Therapist Intern that holds dual Masters Degrees from Rollins College in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and in Liberal Studies. Passionate about connection and relationships, she specializes in Family and Relationship Counseling. Jana's approach is adaptable and individualized, focusing on empowering clients to share and unload their burdens. She uses an Attachment Theory framework to address struggles and aims for optimal wellness through awareness, coping skills, and goal-setting.
