Presentation Summary: 


This presentation explores the transformative power of narrative in healing trauma. Participants will gain insight into Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and practical strategies for integrating narrative techniques into trauma-focused therapy. Through interactive exercises, participants will learn to empower clients to process and reframe their experiences, fostering resilience and healing.

Learning Objectives: 


1. Define Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) and its role in trauma-focused counseling.

2. Identify key steps in creating and implementing lifelines as a therapeutic tool.

3. Demonstrate techniques for facilitating narrative storytelling to support client healing.


Speaker Bio: 

Jessica Straughn, LMHC, LPC, CCTP-II, NCC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (Levels I & II), specializing in trauma-focused care. As the founder of Supportive Counseling, LLC, Jessica provides virtual therapy tailored to professional women and victims of crime across Florida and Colorado. With extensive experience, including serving as a Victim Advocate during the Pulse nightclub tragedy and supporting survivors through the University of Central Florida Police Department, she is committed to compassionate and inclusive care. Jessica’s expertise in narrative-focused therapy empowers clients to process trauma, build resilience, and unlock personal growth.

Attendance for 85-100% of the webinar is required. MHCCF verifies attendance based on registration and meeting duration. Once both are met, you will receive a Post-Presentation email within 48 hours, containing:
