Topic: Domestic Violence

 

Learning Objectives:

* How to recognize domestic violence with your  

   clients

* How to safely counsel domestic violence issues with

   your clients

* How and where to refer clients for further help while

   instructing them how to stay safe

 

Presenter Bio:

 

Ute Krantz, MS, RMHCI, NCC, earned her Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling with emphasis in Marriage & Family Counseling & Therapy from Barry University in May 2011. Currently, Ms. Krantz is employed as a contract counselor for CJA Behavioral Services and Behavioral Support Services. Ute completed her masters level internship at Harbor House Domestic Violence Shelter, where she continued to volunteer following graduation.  Ute was chosen as the Harbor House Volunteer of the Year for 2010-2011. She has had extensive hands on training working with survivors of domestic violence and has incoporated this specialization into her professional counseling work. Ute will complete her Certified Trauma Therapist program in August of 2013. On a personal note, Ute is married to her husband of almost 10 years and has five beautiful children ranging in ages from 5 to 22. Ute also has a small private horse farm and is an EAGALA Certified Therapist where she hopes to begin a private practice upon attaining her licensure later this year.
